Junior Graded Meet 2010

The Basingstoke Bluefins Junior Graded Open Meet will take place on 8th/9th January 2010. There are three sessions.

Rejected Entries

A list of accepted and rejected entries for the Bluefins New Year Meet is now available.

We had almost entries from almost 400 swimmers, for a total of 2036 swims. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to handle that number of entries, so I have been forced to reject a number of entries. The mechanism I used was as follows:

1. All swims faster than the 2011 Hampshire County Qualifying Times were rejected.
2. All swims with no submitted entry times were rejected
3. Where any swimmer was left with a single 50m swim in session 1, that swim was rejected to maintain the number of swimmers for that session
4. Slowest swimmers were rejected to manage time within permitted session lengths for licensed competitions

There will, of course, be refunds payable for rejected swims.

1. For club entries we will send a refund cheques to the club.
2. For individual entries, where the swimmer was rejected from all events, we will destroy the cheque and confirm to you by e-mail that we have destroyed the cheque.
3. For individual entries, where some events were rejected, we will issue a refund cheque

Swimmers Ageing Up for the County Championships

There are a small number of swimmers who have been rejected on the basis that they are faster than the county championships who will be competing in an older age group at county level.

I am prepared to consider requests for reinstatement of swims which meet the following criteria.

• Swimmer has birthday between 10th January and 13th March
• Entry time is slower than the Hampshire County qualifying time for the older age group

I will reinstate these swims if there are any withdrawals that create space without introducing additional heats. If reinstated, these swims will be seeded according to entry times, but will be considered time trials and will not qualify for medal positions.
