Long Course training By separate arrangements
Early morning training As requested by coaches
Commitment: Swimmers are expected to attend for a minimum 80% of training time in order to maintain their place within the squad. Typical distance swum 2.8k per hour, 5k + per two hour session.
Feeder groups: Swimskills, external sources
Criteria: Ability to swim all four strokes legally, three at 200+ metres, (FC 400, 800, 1500), with strokes, starts and turns in accordance with ASA technical laws. Achievement of County qualifying times or within striking distance of same, at discretion of coach.
Development: Achievement of county/district qualifying times, continued technical work, timed swims, endurance, speed. Maintenance of log book, nutrition, sports psychology.
Age range: 10 - 14
Competition: Swimmers are expected to participate in team galas, Speedo League, open meets, club competitions and time trials.
