Some Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What happens if I don’t withdraw from an event and then don’t swim.
A: There will be an empty lane; this may disadvantage other swimmers. Withdrawal is a courtesy to other competitors.
Q: What happens if I don't want to swim all of the events I have entered?
A: Complete a withdrawal form on arrival at the pool (or arrange for your Team Manager/Coach to do so on your behalf).
Q: What happens if I arrive late?
A: If you have not been withdrawn from your events, then you may swim in your allocated lane. If you have been withdrawn by your Team Manager/Coach, you may swim in the first heat, if there is a spare lane. Contact the Meet Manager as soon as possible on arrival at the pool.
Finding The Aquadrome
The Aquadrome is at Basingstoke Leisure Park alongside Basingstoke Ice Rink and is well signposted from Basingstoke Ring Road. Map and directions.
The most convenient car park is the one above and behind the pool. Drive around the cinema and bingo hall and almost to the end of the car park. There are steps down between the ice rink and the pool.
Food Services
There is a snack bar at the Aquadrome serving drinks, sandwiches, hot dogs etc. There is a McDonalds and a Kentucky Fried Chicken within walking distance of the pool. The Ice Rink and Bowling Alley next door also offer hot and cold drinks and snacks.
For a more complete meal at the end of the day there are Beefeater and Little Frankies restaurants close to the pool.

The Easter period is characterised by lots of high level open meets for those seeking National Qualifying times. This is not one of those meets.
This is a meet for the rest. In fact we will not award medals to anyone who swims faster that the qualifying times for the Hampshire County championships. We do award impressive "speeding tickets" to those who go too fast.
This is a friendly meet. For the benefit of novices, we start with a demonstration start. We don't have formal coach passes. As an indication of the swimmers we are aiming for, this meet is licensed at Level 4. Times are valid for qualification for County competitions and will appear in the National rankings.
This is a "real" meet. We do have full electronic timing and we have a reputation for running an efficient competition.
