BASINGSTOKE BLUEFINS SWIMMING CLUB

AGE GROUP GRADED OPEN MEET 2008

CONDITIONS

 

 

1.       This event shall be conducted in accordance with ASA Laws and ASA Technical Rules.
  

2.       Any swimmer who is eligible as defined in ASA Law may enter this competition, providing that they meet the entry criteria defined below.

 

3.       This event is a graded competition. Swimmers who have already achieved a time faster than the 2007 qualifying times for the ASA South East Region Age Group Championships are not eligible to enter that event.

 

4.      In the interest of safety and to ensure the smooth running of the competition the number of overall entrants and or entries to any individual event is limited. If the whole competition, or any individual event is oversubscribed, entries will be rejected on the following basis:

1.     Swimmers who have already achieved a time faster than the 2008 qualifying times for the Hampshire County ASA Championships.

2.     Swimmers with no entry time.

3.     Swimmers with the slowest entry times.

 

5.       The entry fee shall be £3.50 per individual event.

 

6.       Entries on the appropriate form, together with the entry fee, must reach the entries secretary by the published closing date. (If appropriate, an approved electronic entry method may be used). Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the promoter.

 

7        (Except for any late entries accepted) Confirmation of entry will be sent to each entrant at least 14 days before the date of competition. Swimmers are responsible for checking their entry confirmation. Any errors found must be notified at least 4 days before the first day of the competition. Subsequent to this date, only errors introduced by Basingstoke Bluefins will be corrected.

 

8.      A withdrawal system will be in operation. Club representatives are expected to submit withdrawal forms for swimmers who are not intending to swim, no later than 30 minutes before the advertised starting time of the first event in the session. Competitors who fail to withdraw and do not present themselves at the start may be suspended from all further events at the competition.

 

9.      There will be no final; all events shall be decided on a heat times and places (heat declared winner).

 

10.     All events shall be seeded slowest to fastest. The final heat in each event shall be spearheaded.

 

11.     Medals will be awarded to the first, second and third placed swimmers in each event. Medals will be available for collection as soon as results are published. There will be no presentations. Each swimmer will receive a certificate listing all times recorded.
