Basingstoke Autumn Masters 2006

Competition Conditions (Applicable to swimmers from Hampshire)

1 Laws The competition will be conducted under ASA Laws and Technical Rules. Over the top starts will be used (except for backstroke events).
2 Eligibility The eligibility rule for Hampshire County Championships shall apply to this competition and is as follows: No one who has competed in the championships of another County shall be eligible to compete in Hampshire County Championships in the same year. The competing members of any club allocated to the County Associations shall be allowed to compete in Hampshire County Championships provided that they are eligible as defined in ASA Law.
3 Basingstoke Masters This event is running concurrently with the Basingstoke Masters. Eligible swimmers may choose to compete in either the Hampshire Masters or the Basingstoke Masters or both events. A single swim will qualify for placing in both competitions. There will be separate medals and team trophies for each competition.
4 Ages Age for both individual and team events is determined as at 31st December in the year of competition. All competitors shall be aged 19 years or older in the year of the Competition. The age groups for individual events are given on the Entry Form.
5 Relay Teams The names and dates of birth of the relay team members must be submitted to the meet organisers prior to the event. Teams shall comprise two men and two women who may swim in any order. All swimmers in relay teams must be 25 years or older in the year of competition.
6 Seeding Events will be seeded in submitted entry time order, with the slowest entry times seeded first. Entrants who do not give an entry time will be seeded with the slowest swimmers. For all events of 200m or longer ladies and men will swim together. 
7 HDW The results of all events will be decided on the times recorded (Heat Declared Winner), there will be no finals.
8 Awards Medals will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each event. A trophy will be presented to the Masters team accumulating the most points, which shall be awarded as follows: 6 points for first place, 5 points for second place and so on down to 1 point for sixth place. Placings for swimmers in the 19-24 years age group do not score towards the Masters team trophy. The team trophy in the Basingstoke competition will be awarded to the best visiting club.
9 Entries All entries shall be submitted on the official entry form, or a photocopy of the entry form, and accompanied by the appropriate entry fees.
Completed forms together with the entry fee and a 9"x 6.5" (A5) stamped addressed envelope for the return of entry cards should be sent to:

NOTE: Entries submitted online will be deemed to have been submitted on the official entry form and will be accepted when the appropriate entry fee is received.
10 Closing Date All entries must be received on or before 25th August 2006. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the promoter.
11 Restriction of Entries If more events are received than can be accepted (especially for session one), priority will be given to swimmers from Hampshire entering events which form part of the Hampshire County Masters competition. All other entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis. The promoter may choose to swim the 400m freestyle event with 2 swimmers per lane to maximise the number of entries that can be accepted. [In previous years, no entries have been rejected].
12 Medical Competitors are responsible for their own health and safety. They should be physically fit and able to compete in Masters events. Hampshire ASA, competition officials and organisers accept no liability for fatality or illness of, or injury to, competitors suffering from a medical condition. Any competitor who is using a prescribed medicine which contains, or may contain, a banned substance MUST inform the promoter at the start of the event. Any competitor who suffers from a condition such as epilepsy SHOULD inform the promoter at the start of the event.
